Alexandros Georgoulis (Greece)

"I am an environmentalist/forester and over the last few years I have been working in various positions, both in the private and the public sectors. After having gained experience from “inside,” I felt the need to further my education, this time with a focus on the socio-political aspect of environmental planning.
Thus, the prospect of studying in three esteemed schools germane to spatial and environmental planning was an intriguing one. Just halfway the quite demanding first semester, I have acquired the theoretical background to analyze and describe the complex institutional arrangement that is the European Union. That was made possible with the help of the teaching staff, which patiently walked me and my fellow students through the intricate political arena of policy-making in Europe.
Working on the core issues of the program with a group of people with such diverse backgrounds and knowledge is both personally and professionally rewarding."
